Certificate Service - Required and Additional Documents

This article lists the standard documents required for the Certificate service, the additional documents that may be requested after submission, and the policy on documents issued in other languages.

Standard required documents

• A valid Emirates ID (for residents and citizens) or a valid passport.

• A recent personal photo that meets the standard specifications.

• Proof of relationship when applying on behalf of a family member (for example, a marriage or birth certificate).

Additional documents that may be requested

Depending on the Certificate type and the applicant's case, the reviewing team may request further documents after submission. Common examples include:

• An updated or clearer copy of an already-submitted document.

• A supporting letter relevant to the Certificate's purpose.

• Proof of address or a valid tenancy contract.

When additional documents are requested, the application is placed On Hold and the applicant is notified. The 2-day service clock pauses until the documents are received.

Language and translation policy

• Documents are accepted in Arabic or English.

• A document issued in any other language must be accompanied by a legal (certified) translation into Arabic or English.

• The translation must be produced by an accredited or licensed translation office; the original document should also be provided for reference.

Document format

• Files should be clear, complete, and legible.

• Accepted formats typically include PDF and common image formats within the published size limits.
